Spring/Summer trend 2018: A sweet summer with pastel colours

Pastels will be your ally for springtime: baby blue, powder pink, canary yellow or even lilac. Appearing in all the collections, they bring their share of delicacy and good attention… pastels soften traditional pieces… and bestow a certain respectable romanticism of summer to the silhouette.Far from being pretty-pretty, pastels can add sensuality to a silhouette, and play with transparency…as noted at Burberry who reinterpreted the famous trench with a sweetened version. Monochrome pastel is the big winner of summer. We’re tempted by one piece or even to dare a total look. But we also like combinations, by way of colour-blocking for appealing silhouettes… and floral prints can even add softness.Another alternative is to play with contrast. Pair a pastel shade with a more lively tone. The winning colour combination of summer is pink and red, the two trending colours of 2018, to be worn without moderation. Far from being outdated, pastels take on brightness, lifted with sequins or lurex threads. For daywear, try pastel suits or skirts, and adopt femininity for the evening with delicate dresses, or something more close fitting as seen at Dolce & Gabbana. Pastels invade the accessories, from handbags to caps, and even sunglasses. This summer, without doubt, we’ll be tempted by these not so wise colours. Music Bandit & Nikit - 2018
